Proverbs are short and wise sayings about almost every aspect of life. In the form of short, easily memorable phrases, the proverbs contain a great treasure of folk wisdom, and through use of a short proverb, it's often easier to express an idea better and more convincingly, than with a long speech. Lessens gained through ages by hard experiences certainly are valuable and worth reading.

This book has treasure of proverbs in tow languages; English and Azerbaijani Turkish. It has more than 800 English proverbs, their meaning and usage plus their equivalent or translation in Azerbaijani Turkish. There is also a chapter introducing about 160 Azerbaijani proverbs and their meaning in English. It’s a good source for everybody interested in understanding proverbs in both languages and many precious notes can be learned from it. Because most Azerbaijanis living in Iran, can’t read Latin alphabet, I wrote Azeri part with both Latin and Arabic letters.  In Azerbaijan proverbs is called “fathers word” and as one of them says” fathers words should be written by gold.”
